Terry Fox Run – Hong Kong 2018

Join the CPA Canada Hong Kong Chapter for the 6th annual Terry Fox run. The Chapter will be organizing a team to join the race. Families of the registered members are welcome to join but are required to register. We will be providing free Terry Fox t-shirts for all participants.

China’s Cyber Security Law: Compliance with a Moving Target

China’s Cybersecurity Law came into effect on June 1, 2017 and is a major milestone for cybersecurity legislation in mainland China. The law has remained vague with the grace period extended to the end of 2018. Keith Yuen and Alan Lee at Ernst & Young will share the latest legislation developments, insights on the implications to businesses and what local and foreign companies should be doing in response to the legislation.

- What enforcement activities are going on and who are the key targeted companies?

Trip to Shantou
November 30 – December 2, 2018
CPA Canada Hong Kong Chapter and Association of Women Accountants (Hong Kong) Limited have come together to organize a trip to Shantou, China.
Shantou, a city significant in 19th century Chinese history as one of the treaty ports established for Western trade and contact, was one of the original special economic zones of China established in the 1980s and continues to be eastern Guangdong's economic center.
Tentative itinerary includes:

Visiting Shantou city – the new Guangdong Free Trade Zone

Networking with the representatives of Guangdong and Shantou Institute of CPAs.

Learning about research and innovation at the Shantou University, the only public university that receives funding from our Hong Kong Li Ka Shing Foundation which signed a tripartite agreement with the Government to co-develop the university.

Overnight stay at the beautiful island of Nan'ao
