China’s Cyber Security Law: Compliance with a Moving Target Tuesday, November 27, 2018 China’s Cybersecurity Law came into effect on June 1, 2017 and is a major milestone for cybersecurity legislation in mainland China. The law has remained vague with the grace period extended to the end of 2018. Shantou, a city significant in 19th century Chinese history as one of the treaty ports established for Western trade and contact, was one of the original special economic zones of China established in the 1980s and continues to be eastern Guangdong's economic center. Tentative itinerary includes: Visiting Shantou city – the new Guangdong Free Trade Zone Networking with the representatives of Guangdong and Shantou Institute of CPAs. Learning about research and innovation at the Shantou University, the only public university that receives funding from our Hong Kong Li Ka Shing Foundation which signed a tripartite agreement with the Government to co-develop the university.
